The Grand Cross of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune

2006 sees the continuation of a Grand Cross of energy in the so-called fixed signs (in Shamanic Astrology we call these the signs of Self-Interest) featuring Mars at a 11 Taurus, retrograde Saturn at 10 Leo, Jupiter at 13 Scorpio and Neptune at 16 Aquarius. Also in Aquarius as the Month begins is Chiron at 2 degrees. The Sun enters Aquarius late on Jan 19 or early morning on Jan 20 depending on your time zone and Mercury enters Aquarius Jan 22 and the moons passage by each planet further catalyses what is already in process.

The fixed signs, or signs of self-interest, are focused on developing personal aspects of divine _expression. Taurus is learning about self through the experiences of pleasure, beauty, intimacy and the ability to receive itself and the fullest experience of life. Leo takes this a step further developing the qualities of radical, radiant self-love, self-confidence, self-acceptance, and self-approval from the perspective that it is a divine incarnation. Scorpio develops the qualities of divine Will as an individualized _expression learning to manifest spirit into matter for an orgasmic ecstatic experience and Aquarius extends this to encompass the cosmic perspective and to revolutionize consciousness and awareness further evolving the divine essence within all life.

Mars is the active sacred masculine principle. Saturn is the structure or form we give our lives. Jupiter expands our awareness beyond the current forms. Chiron is the Shamanic healer distilling the healing elixir that transforms our wounds into the medicine we carry. Neptune facilitates new visions and dreams through contact with the field of all possibilities deepening our inner knowing and developing our inner eye for seeing beyond the illusions of this external reality.

This month is likely to further challenge and expand our current perception of reality. The old structures are giving way to new concepts and ideas. The more we try to hang on to what has been the more intense the events will be to force us to let go. The change is happening because it is time. Letting go of all our preconceived ideas of reality and how things should or should not be helps facilitate what is already in process. Inspired action (Mars) that is guided by our inner knowing (Neptune) helps to consciously and innovately (Aquarius) co-create a new expanded (Jupiter) reality (Saturn) beyond what we have previously imagined. This is a natural pre-ordained process similar to what happens to the caterpillar when it is time to become a butterfly. So just as the caterpillar cant fully imagine what it is like to be a butterfly neither can we fully comprehend or imagine what is shifting and changing, or where it is leading us.

Ultimately we could say "resistance is futile" because the process is natural. Just as the caterpillar can not get out of becoming a butterfly we can not ultimately get out of the transformational process already underway. However, the process is a lot more fun when we surrender to the magic and mystery that is there for us to experience when we embrace this pre-ordained unfolding.

 

Jan 1, Sunday. The New Year begins with the Moon still in Capricorn moving quickly into Aquarius conjuncting retrograde Venus (0 Aquarius) and Chiron (1 Aquarius) as the day begins inspiring innovative plans attuned to the big picture for the coming year. Aquarius energy is revolutionizes conscious objective awareness by stepping back and witnessing the cosmic overview. From this place of detached understanding it is easier to accept what IS within the great divine design. From this perspective it makes sense to forgive the unforgivable and let go of seeming injustice and pain that has limited our experience of true freedom.

Jan 2, Monday. The Moon conjuncts Neptune (16 Aquarius) activating further conscious innovation around the mysteries of radical compassion through genuine acceptance of what IS bringing about transformation without attachment to the outcome. In his book Prescriptions For Happiness Ken Keyes says the second prescription is Accepting What is for Now. He describes this process as an inner surrender that comes from conscious choice based on insight rather than fear. It is not a forced outer surrender but rather a clear choice to be with what IS in this moment remembering everything changes and every now is different from the previous one. When we are relaxed and at ease it is much easier to rewire our neural net and the patterns of dis-ease that we might be experiencing. Accepting what IS and loving who we are just as we are right now is the most radically compassionate action we can take and this facilitates amazing miracles, often way beyond whatever we can imagine now.

Jan 3, Tuesday. Moon in Pisces conjuncts Uranus radically energizing selfless service through mystical connection with the divine. When out of balance Pisces has difficulty knowing its own feelings and experience because it merges with and then becomes empathically attuned to those around them sacrificing who they are in service to others. Healthy Pisces must first direct their compassionate energy towards themselves which is a radical departure from the current cultural program that emphasizes personal sacrifice for others. When in balance these mystical dreamers serve the world through the power of their love and acceptance.

Jan 4, Wednesday. Today marks the Earths annual closest approach to the Sun (perihelion), the source of light and life for our planet. (FYI on July 3 Earth is farthest from the Sun (aphelion) in its annual cycle.) It might be worthwhile to consciously attune to the Sun today and see what, if any, Solar Attunements are coming through. This is further expanded by the Suns (14 Capricorn) sextile to Jupiter (14 Scorpio) amplifying the life force energy of the Earth and those who are attuned it. This is a time for noting opportunities that are available and acting on the ones that induce the greatest feelings of aliveness and passion.

Jan 5, Thursday. The Moons move into Aries and conjuncts the North Node (destiny indicator) suggesting this is an important time for taking inspired action towards any heart-centered passionate cause or goal you have.

Jan 6, Friday. Still well within the transformative effects of the Grand Cross energy in many places around the world today is celebrated as Epiphany (also known as the "The Adoration of the Magi" or "The Manifestation of God") ending the twelve days of Christmas as calculated in traditional times. This is the time when the Three Kings, Three Wise Men or Three Magi: Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar are honored for following the star to Bethlehem and bringing the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the Christ child.

January 6 was the original date celebrating the birth of Christ and is still recognized and celebrated by the Eastern Christian Church. However, in the fourth century, the Western Christian Church adopted December 25 as the date of the Feast of Christ's birth giving rise to the tradition of the "12 Days of Christmas." Jan 7, Saturday. The waxing Moon moves into Taurus transmitting the mysteries of receivership, beauty and intimacy. When we can truly receive who we are within ourselves it comes from a place of personal intimacy. The original Latin root of intimacy is intimare meaning "to make familiar with." Becoming familiar with ourselves, knowing and respecting who we are assists us in truly experiencing deep intimacy (or closeness) with another who is also willing to share who they truly are. The true art of intimacy extends to every level of being including physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. When we are connected on all these levels within ourselves then our sharing comes from deep personal intimacy. These next couple of days are great for deepening your own personal intimate connection with yourself and those you love?

Jan 8, Sunday. Mercury (8 Capricorn) sextile Uranus (8 Pisces) suggests unusual messages are possible designed to revolutionize and shift our assemblage point, or the beliefs we hold about our current reality. Even a small perspective shift can rearrange our current reality and expand our experience into new territory especially when are rolling with the flow and trusting the process.

Jan 9, Monday Waxing Moon moves into Gemini linked with the archetypal image of the Fool jumping empty handed into the void completely having surrendered the mind realizing the mind can not know it all and when we move beyond logic and reason magically the laws of gravity or of this reality no longer effect us. Note - tonight the Moon is moving towards the fixed Star Aldebaran also known as the Eye of the Bull and tomorrow night will have moved just beyond this star.

Jan 10, Tuesday. The Moon conjuncts the fixed star Aldebaran mid-day today. Tonight the Moon will be visible near Aldebaran, the eye of the Bull, connected to the mysteries of the mind. The supportive energies of Aldebaran are available when we approach its mysteries with integrity, honor and purity of intent. Jan 11, Wednesday. Moon is crossing the Galactic Anti-Center today and tomorrow morning will cross the June Solstice point at the intersection of the Milky Way and the Ecliptic. The Galactic Anti-center is located at the center of the Sacred Hoop of stars reminding us that we are all interconnected. Each point of the Hoop is essential to the whole of life. Each person holds a place (no more or less important than any other place) within the Sacred Hoop of life and it is up to us to fulfill our part by showing up and expressing who we are as authentically and genuinely as possible.

Jan 12, Thursday. The Moon enters Cancer early this morning crossing the June solstice marker near Galactic Anti-center located inside the Sacred Hoop further illuminating the Celestial Grid as we move toward the Full Moon tomorrow. The Cancer mysteries are interested in nurturing the experience of intimacy and closeness with our family and friends. Focusing on the nurturing _expression of loving kindness towards ourselves and others is a great way to engage this upcoming Full Moon energy. Moon rise is around 4 pm today, 5 pm on the 13^th, 6 pm and on the 14^th and 7 pm on 15^th depending on local horizon line.

Jan 13, 14 and 15 is the The Cancer Full Moon window symbolizing the fulfillment, or fruition, of the seeds planted at the New Moon or some earlier cycle. Visually the Moon phases last for three days, so we see the Moon rising full the night before, the night of, and the night after the exact Full Moon. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds we may have coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. The Moon then begins to wane this week representing the dissemination or integration of these gifts. Once each year the Moon is Full in Cancer bringing to light responsible nurturing of ourselves, our children, our childrens children and our beloved planet.

Jan 13, Friday. Sun conjuncts retrograde Venus (23 Capricorn) as Venus is shapeshifting from her spontaneous youthful Gemini Goddess form into her wise responsive Capricorn form. Venus is now fully in direct contact with the life force energy as represented by the Sun receiving a direct infusion that will guide and direct her next incarnation and journey.

Jan 14, Saturday. Today the Cancer Full Moon (16 Cancer) is highlighting the mysteries of responsible nurturing that comes from being willing to be conscious of our personal needs (i.e. resting when tired, eating when hungry and other activities that promote health and well being) and the needs of those around us in ways that are supportive to all concerned. This includes releasing addictions to controlling outcome and the need to have others be a certain way. Often the best way to support others needs is to give them the space to figure out what is best for them on their own. Focusing on our own needs and desires is helpful. Accepting what IS for now (see Jan 2) supports healthy self-nurturing and that in turn supports responsibly nurturing of others.

Jan 15, Sunday. The Leo Moon conjuncts retrograde Saturn (9 Leo) calling our attention to notice if our lives are are structured in ways that reflect our true divine nature? If our life structure is not reflecting this, it is time to consider restructuring so that it does. Taking time now to celebrate our divine essence through responsibly discovering and then acting from radical, radiant self-love, self-confidence and self-acceptance is an effective way to engage this timing. Imaging and pretending we are God (spirit, source, all that is, etc), which is in reality the truth of our being, helps to facilitate a direct experience of our true divine nature. It helps to image what it feels like, looks like, sounds like to be God, to be the fullest _expression of loving compassion, acceptance and wisdom embodied in our own individual form. In essence it is honoring the God within ourselves and honoring the God within others and honoring God within all creation that creates a transformational paradigm shift into a whole new healthier and way more fun way of being.

Jan 16, Monday. The Leo Moon continues to act as a trigger for the Grand Cross having conjuncted Saturn yesterday and is now squaring Mars and Jupiter and opposing Neptune. This further emphasizes the strategy given yesterday for further experiencing and honoring the divinity within.Jan 17, Tuesday. Transformational Messenger Mercury conjuncts Venus (22 Capricorn) as she is continuing her shapeshift and preparing to rise as morning star on January 20. This is a time for tuning into the messages that are linked to the current unfolding _expression of the sacred feminine as the wise one who knows how to effectively and efficiently administrate her domain for the benefit of all concerned.

Jan 18, Wednesday. Mars (16 Aquarius) square Neptune (16 Aquarius) suggests this is a time for acting on our inspired visions and dreams especially when deepening intimacy, beauty, pleasure and our ability to fully receive and enjoy them all. Deep personal intimacy (self knowing and appreciation) is a key to this process. If we have fear, guilt, or shame, we often do our best to create emotional numbness, addictive behaviors that promote denial and repression. This then distorts our inner and outer reality causing further pain and separation. Being willing to feel what we feel is part of the healing process that will eventually lead us towards more genuine personal intimacy with ourselves and others.

Jan 19, Thursday. Moon moves into Libra this afternoon illuminating where we are in our experience of conscious equal partnership. It might help to ask yourself; Am I conscious of my interrelatedness to every aspect of creation? Am I engaging a conscious intimate relationship with myself? Am I willingly growing in this conscious awareness of myself and how I exist in relationship to the rest of life? Neale Donald Walsh reminds us in Conversations With God Book One that relationships do not need to carry any obligations, restrictions, rules, or guidelines "Relationship  your relationship to all things-was created as your perfect tool in the work of the soul. That is why all human relationships are sacred ground. It is why every personal relationship is holy Remember, your job on the planet is not to see how long you can stay in relationship, its to decide, and experience, Who You Really Are Conscious awareness, actions and choice are essential for experiencing deep intimate relationships.

Jan 20, Friday. Venus rises as a Morning star at 24 Capricorn beginning a new 584 day Cycle of Venus that lasts until Aug 24, 2007. This is significant for any one turning a multiple of eight (16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96 etc.) from now until then. Also today the Libra Moon conjuncts the South Node again asking us to notice our past experience with relationships and how we have integrated those experiences in our current relationships. The idea here is to be conscious about why we are entering into, or staying in, relationships? In Conversations With God we are reminded that when we choose relationships because we are unconsciously lonely, bored, depressed, or unfulfilled it is doubtful the relationship will ultimately fulfill those needs. If however you are consciously entering relationship and choosing it as - an opportunity for growth, for full Self _expression, for lifting your lives to their highest potential, for healing every false thought or small idea you ever had about you, and for ultimate reunion with God through the communion of your two souls  then you are entering an entirely different domain based on the foundation of consciously choosing your experience. Jan 21, Saturday. The waning Libra Moon is approaching the fixed star Spica, in the constellation of the Virgin Priestess, visible in the morning sky about 90 minutes before Sunrise. Spica is located in the Hand of the constellation of the Virgin Priestess and speaks to the wisdom of reaping what we sew especially in the area of how we are relating to ourselves and others. It is helpful to stay present with love and kindness regardless of what others may be doing. It is important to have healthy boundaries and not allow others to be abusive toward us but doing it from a place of clarity and love helps bring resolution to the situation that is beneficial and supportive.

Jan 22, Sunday. The waning Moon moves into Scorpio energizing the mysteries of alchemical transformation through life, death, and rebirth. Scorpio is also an energy that is about passionately responding to experiences and feelings. A great Scorpio manual is the first half of the book Right Use of Will received by Ceanne DeRohan. The main message here is about the benefits of healing our emotional bodies where our Will is located. When we have healthy emotional bodies we also have a healthy connection to our Will and how it connects and works with Spirit or Divine Will. This includes healing all the ways we do not accept ourselves in any moment including how we often reject our ego. Right Use of Will says; "Spiritual growth has been thought to require the death of the ego. This is not a true understanding. There is not a problem with ego. Denying the ego its right function has created disease in the ego and this disease is the problem. Death of the ego in not a necessary part of spiritual growthEgo in fact is the part of you that recognizes yourself as you. The ego operates to protect your present level of ability to accept and express. Ego is as Divine as anything else. There is not a problem with ego if it sees itself as evolving with the rest of you. You cannot tell the difference between yourself and anything else without ego." So in essence it is not death of the ego that is required but death of the judgments and misunderstandings we hold about the ego. When we can accept all of who we are while embracing our whole being (including our ego) as an evolving _expression of the divine then deep and profound transformation is guaranteed.

Jan 23, Monday. Moon and Jupiter (16 Scorpio) meet near the fixed star Zuben Algenubi one of the bright stars in the constellation of the Scales.
The other bright star is Zuben Alshmali and together these stars are marking the pans that weigh the sufficient and insufficient price, or the heart of the one who has just died against the feather (truth) of Maat (Egyptian Goddess of Wisdom). Zuben Algenubi known by current day astronomers as Alpha marks the Samhain Astrological Cross-Quarter located on the line of the ecliptic or the path the Sun and Planets travel. This means that each year on Nov 7 the Sun passes right over this star. The ancient Chinese called this constellation Show Sing, "the Star of Longevity", but later generations changed the name to Tien Ching, meaning "the Celestial Balance'. The appearance of the constellation at a certain time of year marked the time when the annual regulation of weights had to be made by Chinese law. The sacred books of India call this constellation Tula, meaning 'a balance' and shows a man bent on one knee, holding the scales aloft. The fixed star site talso says Tula is the name for the 'Holy Land' located in the north. In William Henrys book, The Peacemaker and the New Key of Life Tula is defined as "the place of Peace". Henry says, "The Key of Life is a secret teaching which enables the Children of Light to enter the Promised land which is the biblical code for the ultimate human experience. Jupiter is currently expanding this starry portal also knows as Tula for the next several months though within .8 degrees right now and worth checking out an hour before sunrise if your up that early.

Jan 24, Tuesday. Transformational Messenger Mercury conjuncts Shamanic Healer Chiron (4 Aquarius) indicating an opportunity to receive clear communication about how our healing process is going amplifying our awareness and helping to guide us into the realms and dimensions where our greatest shamanic healing occurs.

Jan 25, Wednesday. The waning Sagittarius Moon is approaching the bright red star Antares tonight, marking the heart of the Scorpion, also seen in some cultures as the heart of the dragon or serpent. This royal star is a stellar pathway accessing the transformative energies of the oracle designed to expand awareness and meaning in ways that support the fulfillment of our earthly journey. The Moon is transmitting the lineage of these mysteries through the Sagittarian energies of the ever-expanding quest for truth and meaning. The Delphic Oracle had two inscriptions over the door. The first said "Know they Self" and the second said. "Nothing in Excess not even self perfection". Visually connecting with or meditating upon the Moon and Antares provides a direct experience of these mysteries and what they mean for you personally at this time.

Jan 26, Thursday. Mercury conjuncts the Sun (7 Aquarius) in its psychopomp phase. The psychopomp is a guide for souls taking them where they need to go in their spiritual journey. In Aquarius this is in the Celestial Realm where we connect with the grand cosmic overview. In addition the waning Sagittarius Moon is passing by Pluto (18 Sag). Both of these aspects are highly Shamanic transformative energies that work through the in-between - in the realm of shamanic power - calling us to pay attention to what is seeking healing, integration, and _expression.

Jan 27, Friday. Sun and Mercury (7 Aquarius) are opposite Saturn (7 Leo) Jupiter (17 Scorpio) Squares Neptune (17 Aquarius) and Moon conjuncts retrograde Venus (17 Capricorn). This is such an impactful time on so many levels. The Grand Cross of planets mentioned earlier is finding exact trigger points today helping us to redesign our relationship to the unfolding Great Mystery if we are choosing it. For some it may be happening due to events beyond their control , for some it happens because they are choosing change and for others life goes on as usual unless there is a conscious choice to engage these energies. It helps to trust the process, surrender attachments to outcome, let the things that are dying or changing go, and be clear about your intent, trusting that it is manifesting in perhaps ways you hadnt ever imagined.

New Moon Window Jan 28, 29, 30 A New Moon occurs about every 29 and = days when the Moon aligns with the Sun from the Earths perspective, thus the Moon at a New Moon is invisible due to its proximity to the Sun. The New Moon is a conception point, a time when farmers plant their seeds, or a new adventure (or initiation) begins. Working with a clear intent during the New Moon window (the day before, day of and day after the exact New Moon) is a wonderful timing for collectively planting seeds, or prayers, for wholeness, healing, harmony, balance, peace, and so on. As the crescent Moon increases in light, growing bigger each night, it symbolizes the growth of the seeds planted at the New Moon.

Jan 28, Saturday. Moon moves into Aquarius and conjuncts Chiron (1 Aquarius) again activating the revolutionary Shamanic Healer. Chiron is in Aquarius until Feb 2011 and the Moon further catalyzes the Chironic revolutionary process best facilitated through acts of kindness towards ourselves and others.

Jan 29, Sunday. Today is the New Moon in Aquarius marking the Chinese New Year that always begins on the Aquarius New Moon. This is the year of the Fire Dog or Red Dog. Any New Years point especially at a New Moon is a time for planting seeds or clarifying and energizing intentions.

Jan 30, Monday. The Moon moves into Pisces this afternoon and conjuncts Uranus tomorrow energizing the mysteries of radical compassion especially when we practice acts of kindness. Research indicates that acts of kindness benefit not only the person who receives the kindness and the person who gives it but also anyone who happens to witness it bringing feelings of richness and fulfillment to our livesand Kindness promotes good health and longevity. Jan 31, Sunday. Messenger Mercury moves to conjunct Neptune tomorrow (17 Aquarius) inspiring new visions and dreams from a grand cosmic perspective. This is a good time for looking larger away from what has always been toward a whole new and perhaps even more magical life _expression. Mercury and Neptune together remind us that a truly magical life is possible when we are willing to embrace and experience it.
